Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) has a robust fundraising program to support their mission of reaching millions of people throughout the world through The Lutheran Hour and other programs to spread the Gospel. However, most gifts are received through direct mail. They were looking for direction to improve their email and online giving at Year-end.
In the previous 2 years, LHM raised roughly $2,400 with less than 40 gifts in the month of December while raising close to $400,000 through direct mail amongst over 6,600 donors. Email giving comprised less than 1% of total giving for the month.
Aria Strategy Group consulted with LHM and gave direction to change the strategy and include other tactics to boost email giving- which LHM then implemented. With these changes, LHM raised over $55,000 (18 times more than previous years) amongst over 400 email donors. Email giving grew to 18% of total giving in December. Equally important, direct mail donations were not affected meaning that this was a true increase of giving at year-end and more funds to support their services.
